Inaugurated at the Louvre Museum was the exhibition-tribute  to the history of Macedonia from Mycenaean times untilt he Romanera.
A wealth ofexhibits is presented:sculptures, reliefs, mosaics,vases,gold warriors' wreaths,sarcophagi, funerarycolumnsanda reconstructionof the palaceof PhilipB' as well asreferencesto the socialand economic lifeof ancientMacedonia.
The exhibitionwas co-organized bythe Louvre Museumand theGreekMinistryof Cultureand Tourism, sponsoredfromthe Greek side, by theStavros Niarchos Foundationand theFoundationof I. F.Kostopoulos(forthe exhibition catalogue) and theFoundationof the Hellenic World(scientificgrant).The organization was also supported by theGreek National Tourism Associationofficein Paris.
